NEW DELHI: The EC  has asked the Centre to put on hold sub-quota for Muslims till the elecions are over in the five states, according to Times Now.

However,  The Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday said that he has not violated the model code of conduct by promising Muslim sub-quota as it’s part of Congress manifesto.

“No new policy was announced. It was in consonance with the Congress policy and part of the party’s manifesto,” Khurshid said in his reply to the Election Commission.

The EC had issued notice to Khurshid and his wife, Louise who is a Congress candidate for the violation of model code of conduct, after the BJP complained calling the announcement unconstitutional.

It is to be noted the dictate of holding of 4.5% of Qouta can be effected for just till the elections in five states are held and the counting is completed the EC can not stop it beyond that. This is  the highest level of political manipulation which the nation has seen in recent times.

The EC is within is rights to effect such stricture, this is similar to the one EC effected on covering of  Statues of Elephants of Mayawati and Mayawati. EC had one ground that time and also this time, providing level playing ground for all political parties in the elections.

Important is how Congress made this issue a very impacting issue for the Muslims in states that are going for elections. They were given dreams, they found hope in such a move, infect started getting fruits too.

Now this will be a greater polarization for Muslims they known it is important to make sure Congress finds or share power in UP for their dreams to re live.  I call this a great show of political manipulation and master stroke, which is very difficult to understand for its oponnents  months and years after elections are over.
