INDIA Redefined is a vision created by ordinary people like you and me who understood this simple concept of making a difference in the lives of others and our Indian society by  bringing in a fourth sector – to harness the power of the people. .
We have left governance to people who are not really our representative, policy to people who do not feel they are accountable to us, and we have left all the other problems like slums, literacy, environment etc to NGOs and social workers who struggle without Citizen’s support.INDIA Redefined,a non political citizen’s empowerment movement creates responsible,empowered citizens.
IR is a movement to create responsible and empowered citizens by bringing about “Behavioral Change”. It is only when we do our duties we shall be empowered to demand our rights. It is by this change in behavior that we can unlock people’s potential to be empowered citizens. This will redefine how we think and act as an Indian. …..and that is what INDIA Redefined is about. So, what is the Vision of INDIA Redefined? It is simply – CREATING A HAPPY INDIA. And how can we create a Happy India? Most of the ordinary people want to do something for the country, they just don’t know how. The idea is to mobilize these masses and bring them together. How does INDIA Redefined do it? By giving a structure to this… ‘Desire to do something’. By creating an opportunity for them, to achieve small successes in doing something for the society… Something within his resources and available time– a simple successful activity, that would not only be beneficial at a larger scale but also provide the motivation to strive for bigger changes. Developing this behavioral change across Indians of all strata, INDIA Redefined plans to tackle problems, leveraging the power of individual. What makes this movement unique or even different? Well, there are many wonderful organizations, NGO, Charities which do a lot of wonderful work – But it never seems to be enough. Most of them work within a context or for a specific cause that the overall positive effect ….. is lost in the gaps. One of the biggest reasons is that we have not tapped efficiently into the potential of the individual. INDIA Redefined is a platform for people from different, different social class, having different outlooks and opinions to come together and work towards redefining India. That is why INDIA Redefined’s vision is created by an amalgamation of different visions that ultimately leads to a HAPPY INDIA. It is important to understand that we are not affiliated with a single political party or motive. But do not hesitate to work with any and every political party, business houses or NGO for the right cause. By bringing drops of people together on a common platform INDIA Redefined creates an ocean – Ocean strong enough to make government, politicians, public servants not only accountable but also make each Indian an Awakened Citizen The idea has not only got support of people but also was adjudged “The Best Humanitarian Initiative” in December 2009. In this long journey of redefining India, we have taken only a few baby steps. But then again, a journey of thousand miles begins with a single step…This idea…of a movement that is trying to tackle most, if not all, social issues asks you for only one thing – DONATION. Not of MONEY. But of TIME.

After all whose voice and action make a difference? A billion lone voices or a billion strong force?
Whether we want to make the biggest and best chocolate cake, a Taj Mahal,or a Clean, Green, Safe, Honourable and Healthy Nation- we need time and the energy of many pairs of willing hands. That means Volunteers.

However rotten the old building,smog in our country that is ruining our health, poisoned rivers that are deforming our babies – can we make things better by holding a mirror to it and saying to the unrepentant, indifferent and corrupt builder, “Look! The material you have used is bad”?
NOTHING BECOMES GOOD IF WE KEEP LAMENTING AND DOING LITTLE ELSE.It is very easy to talk about the bad material used in the building and how no maintenance was ever done by who were supposed to be responsible for it. The old and crumbling building is going to remain same if you just keep talking about it or keep showing its image to everyone. Basically, you can never improve it by talking about what is not done. You have to use your hands to make it stronger. Similarly, it is very easy for us to talk about corruption and many other issues by only pointing fingers towards faults of others. We talk about garbage on our Streets, corruption, incompetence of our municipality and many other similar things by just talking about it. Nothing will ever become good! Just like an old building, how can you all make a nation better only by talking about what is not done. We all talk of various problems in India while we are at home, on Facebook walls, in our offices, LinkedIn, etc. – but do very little. Part of the reason is that we think that solving these are responsibility of the government, politicians, bureaucracy, economists or NGO’s. Anyone but us! We are very fond of talking about our RIGHTS but shy away from even talking about our responsibilities as a citizen of the country. Many of us do not even bother to vote and then criticize the people who are elected on vote bank politics. This “INERTIA” is the root cause of many of our problems and we are partly to be blamed for it.
We can only make a nation better by positively working towards making it better.  The Govt sec, NGO sec, Corporate sector have worked for common people but most of the time common people of India is only used to giving taxes, votes or comment on what is being done right or wrong. He or she is like a spectator! Like an audience in a big stadium! Who is not really playing! Who always feels that they are cheering the losing side! Who finds faults in the players, coaches and management of their team who is representing them! It’s time that you feel and behave like a player. That too, a winning one! India is not like a sports team where only a few selected ones are representing the whole country! India is owned by you! Every citizen is a player! It’s your India! You are the player! India as a country will win or lose based on how each of you will play for India. Care for its society!  And won’t tolerate any nonsense!
Yes we will take up the issues of corruption and accountability as all these things have really polluted our country too.But to clean so much dirt- the broom should become very strong first.

Many of you are better human beings than I am; many of you have more principles and better values than me. Yet today, you are all listening to me and respecting me because maybe some of you might know about my own individual contributions, but most of you have understood my willingness to work for our country, in spite of having as much time and resources as any common man has and maybe, lesser intelligence. So first you all gain this respect by doing your duties on this big platform of IR. Make it so strong that no one can break this unity. Then we will together make INDIA corruption free. IR wins people over – we do not defeat. IR should make friends not enemies. That is the only way to become more powerful. So let’s get together, join hands, unite and take action.
IR mission and objectives are still in process of being defined. Followers follow a brand, Leaders make a brand. So I want all of you to be leaders who are making IR more defined and better. It is a great opportunity for you to step up and define this. Yes we will take the issues of corruption, accountability as all these things have really polluted country but to clean so much of dirt- the broom should become very strong. And IR will do that once we have supporters of IR all over the world. Right now, we are still not so strong. If we take up these issues then it is possible to get crushed by people with vested interest. The goal of IR is creating supporters not competitors. IR should make friends not enemies. In future also I request all of you not to point out fingers towards others but first think what you can do for your country.

March for Happy India has got great response from so many people from different backgrounds like College Professors,Principals, Defence people, Students, RTI people, Corporates, NGOs, Police people, Politicians, Judges, Beaurocrates, NRIs, Lawyers, Media. Lets see how many of them actually support. But still now many of us can actually see a faint ray of hope at the end of long dark tunnel for making India a Happy Country.

INDIA Redefined needs help in generating resources and funds for our future projects, in which many NRIs will also participate like ” March for Happy India”, ” Develop your own village”, ” Clean- Green Campaigns”, “I Care for India”, , “I Donate- 6 months of my life”-all these causes (we need your suggestions for these and even names of these projects also) by selling INDIA Redefined T Shirts, Mugs, Bands, Caps or any other way you can think. Some creative people are already designing these T shirts . Please help in contacting people from Rotary, Lions, Lionness, schools, colleges, corporates, NGO, or any other organization who can help INDIA Redefined in selling these Tshirts or other things.

“India Redefined” is seeking motivated and committed individuals, to work on voluntary basis and to form Working Committee of India Redefined movement, Form Working Members Committee in your area,colleges with people who have expertise, passion, interest and skill in any one of the following areas

2) Writing and Communication

3) Events organizing

4) Project conceptualizing and project writing (for participatory projects)

5)  Speakers

6) Unity and Peace Groups
