This meet is rightly timed with various issue pertaining to Muslims are in debate in Parliament, in Media and with the Muslims Intellectuals and Common man and National Political parties for and against them.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Jamiat’s state president Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed and national secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi said that nearly 50,000 members from across the state would participate in the convention.
Reservation for Muslims on the basis of population, passing of Communal Violence Bill, exemption of Madarsas from the Right to Education Act, 2009 and protection of Waqf properties are among the issues to be discussed during the convention.
Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would attend the convention. Several eminent personalities from the country would also attend. Presence of Gulam Nabi Azad will be of a great advantage to get a clear opinion on the hot issues like reservation and communal violence bills. It will an opportunity to know the mind of Indians major political party Congress, which is blamed for years for not solving issues before the Muslims and using them for decades and keeping them hinged with empty promises.
Arrangements for the meet are taken up at the historic Nizam College Grounds at Basheerbagh. Though the organizers are expressing the possibility of around 50000 people from Muslims Community will be attending.
The mood in the state specially in the Telangana Region and districts like Kareemnagar, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Nalagonda and Adilabad is of upbeat these discricts being in close vicinity of Hydrabad and trasportation should not be a issue to be in Hyderabad to attend the meet.
The meet is seen as a crucial in the wake of governments allotting 4.5 percent quota with in quota for Minorities from the OBC allotted 27 percent quota. It is understood widely the Muslims have found the move of Congress as Political in light of Election in five states and especially in Uttar Pradesh where the percentage of Muslims is 18 percent and it is history the ruling Congress party is not in good books of UP Muslims and are divided in between BSP and SP. And a mere 1 percent of vote share goes to Congress.
Many feel 4.5 percent reservation is mere gimmick, it is not going to help Muslims as it is the OBC Muslims were benefiting from OBC qouta on the merits of them being eligible in OBC.
